I have enjoyed 20 plus years in the event industry working within a PLC business, privately owned organisation, private equity backed entity and had the privileged to Chair our industry association.
Starting working life in a sales environment with Haymarket Publishing my degree background led me to join Reed Exhibitions in a marketing capacity in 1998. At Reed I was well educated in the trade event industry, the discipline of marketing and most importantly of all - how to manage teams well.
The creative and entrepreneurial consumer events world opened to me when I joined Upper Street Events in 2003. I am proud to have been MD of this business, building a small team into a major player in the consumer events sector, acquiring and launching (not all successfully!) along the way.
Having sold the business to a private equity investor in 2014 I left the business to in 2017. Since then I have had a great deal of enjoyment working with several businesses as a consultant to our ever-developing events world.
